Appreciating the Differences in Others

OVERVIEW:
Using a behavioral tendency survey, Wendy Mannering provides a thoughtful, humorous and entertaining presentation regarding the importance of recognizing and appreciating the differences in those with whom we live and work.

The presentation centers around the concept that, with greater understanding of the individuals in our lives, we can build stronger, more positive relationships.

The Personal Style Survey is based on a more comprehensive learning instrument, THE PERSONAL PROFILE SYSTEM (PPS) developed by Dr. John Gyer.

OBJECTIVES:

Wendy Mannering uses this survey:

To promote better understanding among individuals as they work in project teams, departments, families or volunteer organizations.

To empower participants to appreciate the strengths of each individual and understand how to utilize those strengths in task assignments that will energize each team member.

To teach communication skills that create harmony with various behavioral tendencies of individuals in a team or family. Through understanding of the various behavior styles, there will be less frustration and irritation, and more productivity and harmony.

To help sales people understand that each prospect they approach has different communication needs and, by adapting to those needs, they can achieve a great level of success.

TIME FRAME:

The Personal Style Survey takes approximately twenty minutes to complete and self-score.

Wendy Mannering would need at least forty-five minutes to interpret the scoring.  This would highlight the main points of the  behavioral style.

A more in-depth interpretation with group interaction would require a two-to-three hour time frame.
